About Me

Hi, I’m Dwija! I’m a graduate student in Computational Linguistics at the University of Washington, where I work on adapting multilingual large language models for under-resourced languages under the guidance of Prof. Shane Steinert-Threlkeld.

My research interests lie at the intersection of multilingual NLP and low-resource language technologies. I’m passionate about making language technologies more linguistically informed and accessible.

Previously, I worked as a Generative AI Engineer at NVIDIA, developing synthetic data generation and annotation pipelines. I also interned at the Hewlett Packard Data Science Institute as a Pharis Fellow, modeling cancer patient pathways using machine learning techniques.

I did my undergrad at the University of Houston, where I majored in Computer Science and Mathematics with a concentration in Data Science. There, I was part of the RiTUAL (Research in Text Understanding and Analysis of Language) led by Prof. Thamar Solorio and was a recipient of the SURF (Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship) scholarship.
